Earlier this year, you expressed interest in participating in the inaugural PDMC Lead Practitioner’s Course. We’re now preparing to begin the program in January, and I’d like to invite you to confirm your place in the beta cohort.

The 2027 Beta Cohort

Your Role in the Beta Cohort

As a member of this inaugural cohort, you'll help shape the program and strengthen the learning experience for future PDMC Lead Practitioners.

01

Help Shape the Future of PDMC

This first cohort has an additional role: helping us put the finishing touches on the program before the first regular cohort begins in September 2027.

Throughout the program, we'll invite your feedback through brief surveys and group discussions. We want to understand what works well, what could be clearer or more useful, and where the materials can be strengthened.

02

Building the PDMC Lead Practitioner Handbook

Because we'll incorporate feedback as we go, course materials will be released on the learning platform week by week rather than provided as one complete handbook at the beginning.

Your feedback will help us complete and refine the PDMC Lead Practitioner Handbook.

Your perspective matters. Your feedback will help strengthen the program and shape the handbook for future cohorts.

Program Curriculum

What We’ll Be Working On

The course is organized around four primary areas, bringing together advanced practice, observation, coaching, and sustainable implementation.

01

Advanced PDMC Practice & Child Study

We’ll take a deeper dive into Adlerian theory and its application to individual children and develop the skills to facilitate collaborative PDMC child studies within your school.

02

Observation Through a PDMC Lens

We’ll develop practical observation skills focused on class meetings, child and group dynamics, and the classroom environment—with an emphasis on using observation to support teachers effectively.

03

Coaching the PDMC Way

We’ll use established Positive Discipline principles to develop a strengths-based approach to supporting colleagues. This includes Top Card, collaborative problem-solving, facilitating staff and level meetings, and navigating the sometimes-conflicting roles of supervisor and coach.

04

Teaching & Sustaining PDMC

We’ll develop the skills to onboard new staff, facilitate PDMC book studies, provide ongoing staff support, share selected PDMC principles and practices with parents, and help maintain consistency through staff transitions.
