Advanced PDMC Practice & Child Study
Take a deeper dive into Adlerian theory and its application to individual children. Develop the skills to facilitate collaborative PDMC child studies within your school.
Earlier this year, you expressed interest in participating in the inaugural PDMC Lead Practitioner’s Course. We’re now preparing to begin the program in January, and I’d like to invite you to confirm your place in the beta cohort.
This advanced program is designed for experienced PDMC practitioners and school leaders who are ready to help strengthen and sustain Positive Discipline throughout their school communities.
This first cohort has an additional role: helping us put the finishing touches on the program before the first regular cohort begins in September 2027.
Throughout the program, we’ll invite your feedback through brief surveys and group discussions. We want to understand what works well, what could be clearer or more useful, and where the materials can be strengthened.
Because we’ll incorporate feedback as we go, course materials will be released on the learning platform week by week rather than provided as one complete handbook at the beginning.
Your feedback will help us complete and refine the PDMC Lead Practitioner Handbook.
Four Pillars of Lead Practitioner Development
Take a deeper dive into Adlerian theory and its application to individual children. Develop the skills to facilitate collaborative PDMC child studies within your school.
Develop practical observation skills focused on class meetings, child and group dynamics, and the classroom environment, with an emphasis on using observation to support teachers effectively.
Use established Positive Discipline principles to develop a strengths-based approach to supporting colleagues. Explore Top Card, collaborative problem-solving, staff and level meetings, and the sometimes-conflicting roles of supervisor and coach.
Develop skills to onboard new staff, facilitate PDMC book studies, provide ongoing staff support, share selected PDMC principles and practices with parents, and maintain consistency through staff transitions.
Because the Advanced Practitioner’s Class is a new addition to the PDMC pathway, Advanced Practitioner (Level 2) content will be incorporated into this Lead Practitioner cohort. You will not need to complete the Advanced Practitioner’s Class separately before we begin.
Whether you're beginning with the Practitioner's Class or continuing through advanced study, the PDMC Practitioner Pathway offers opportunities to deepen your understanding and implementation of Positive Discipline in the Montessori Classroom.

The course is organized around four primary areas.

Two connected parts combine course training with real-world implementation and mentoring.
The course includes 16 live, 90-minute online sessions, plus two reserved dates that give us additional time if needed or flexibility if a session must be rescheduled.
12:00 p.m. Eastern
11:00 a.m. Central
10:00 a.m. Mountain
9:00 a.m. Pacific
No class April 28. The final two scheduled dates are reserved sessions.
European participants will receive a complete calendar showing the correct UK/Ireland and Central European times. Because the United States and Europe change clocks on different dates in March, the European start time will temporarily shift.
After completing the course portion, we’ll reconvene as you begin putting your Lead Practitioner skills into practice in your own school.
These sessions will give us an opportunity to work with real situations as they arise, problem-solve together, share what is working, and continue developing your skills with the support of the cohort.
Currently planned approximately every three weeks. We can meet more frequently if the needs of the cohort indicate that would be helpful.
Participants who successfully complete the program requirements will receive the designation:
The designation recognizes advanced preparation to support and sustain PDMC within your own school or organization through observation, child study, coaching, facilitation, staff onboarding, and ongoing support.
The Lead Practitioner designation does not authorize participants to offer PDMC courses, workshops, or training outside their own school or organization.
An introductory tuition rate for the inaugural cohort.
For this inaugural beta cohort, tuition is $950 in recognition of your willingness to provide feedback throughout the course as we refine the program and complete the PDMC Lead Practitioner Handbook.
Beginning with the first regular cohort in September 2027, tuition for the Lead Practitioner’s Course will be $1,950.
We look forward to learning together, strengthening PDMC practice, and helping schools sustain this work for years to come.
